Transplant Australia Football Club match at Cromer Park, Manly

Transplant Australia is proud to announce the inaugural match of the Transplant Australia Football Club will be taking place at Cromer Park, home of Manly United, on 12 and 13 March.

It will be an action packed weekend for the new Transplant Australia Football Club with players flying in from around the country to participate in the much anticipated game.

The match will be presented by Transplant Australia and feature the Transplant eleven versus a Belrose / Terrey Hills Invitational side.

The weekend will kick off Friday night with a skills drill session, followed by a practice run on Saturday morning ahead of the big game on Saturday afternoon.

The Transplant Australia FC team will comprise of players who have received an organ or tissue transplant versus a local team. The competition will showcase the benefits of organ donation, as these players are a testament to the full, healthy and active life that can be achieved through transplantation.

Saturday night the team will enjoy a quiet dinner at a local club with an early recovery session scheduled for Sunday morning at Freshwater Beach. A dip in the cool water will help to prepare them for the exhibition match at 2pm Sunday afternoon ahead of the first grade game and in front of a packed Cromer Stadium.

It would be wonderful for the Transplant Australia community to come out and support the team by attending the games. If you’re interested in more details or would like to get involved, please contact Matty Hempstalk at footballclub@transplant.org.au
