Vale Marguerite Wiseman

By May 4, 2025No Comments

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Margueriete Wiseman on April 26 2025.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff and members at Transplant Australia and the ACT organ donation and transplantation community, we send our condolences to Margueriete’s beloved husband Laurie and her family.

Marguerite has been involved as a strong advocate for organ donation since the early 2000s following the passing of Margueriete and Laurie’s beloved son, Ben who was an organ donor as a young adult.

Marguerite was passionate about promoting organ and tissue donation and over the years welcomed every opportunity to be involved in campaigns.

Marguerite and Laurie have given great support to Transplant Australia through the Australian Transplant Games and attending events as donor family representatives. They were both very involved in the early stages of establishing the Transplant Australia Donor Family Quilt to which they devoted a patch in memory of their son Ben.

Marguerite was very closely involved with DonateLife ACT, being one of their first donor families to help reach out to the Australian community promoting organ donation and encouraging Australians to register.

Transplant Australia members and staff will always remember Marguerite as a person of great resilience, integrity and strength. Always there to lend a helping hand without fuss and determined to promote the organ donation cause in honour of her son and for the benefit of others.

The funeral for Marguerite will be held at St Matthews Anglican Church, Laurens Street, Wanniassa on Monday 5 May 2025 commencing at 1.30pm.
