Transplant Australia 2024 – 2026 Strategic Plan

As Chairman I am proud to release Transplant Australia’s 2024-2026 Strategic Plan to our membership. It is a well-considered, high level overview of our priorities that took six months in the making. Feeding into the review was a comprehensive membership survey and interviews with 13 key stakeholders, including recipients, funding authorities, medical practitioners and nurses, and importantly people with donor experiences.

This plan emphasises that although we are extremely proud of our heritage in providing transplant games and sports experiences for our membership, we are so much more than that. Our three strategic pillars under this plan are Advocacy and Storytelling, Active Lifestyles and Education, and Support.

We should take a moment and be proud of what Transplant Australia has become today. Look around the world and you will not find a similar membership-based organisation with such respect and influence in the transplant space. We are pleased our national office and state committees continue to deliver for our community. Over the next few months you will see each state committee across the country gearing up to better deliver our nationally-led services locally.

I would like to thank fellow directors, especially Colin Liebmann and Holly Tyrrell, and our CEO Chris Thomas for their work in preparing this strategic plan. Holly recently stepped away from the board in preparation to welcome her third child however we know she is only ever a phone call away.

We have a great team in the national office and wonderful volunteers across Australia. This plan will act as a roadmap to help us ‘make the most of life’.
