World Transplant Games Federation President and Transplant Australia CEO Chris Thomas and his wife Helen are taking the message of organ donation to the streets, country fields, cliffs, moors and marshes of England.
Chris and Helen have set off on a Fit for Life! 310km coast-to-coast walk across England.
Chris is in England as part of the preparations for next year’s World Transplant Games in Newcastle/Gateshead.
He was joined at the start of the walk by kidney recipient Damon Johnstone and heart recipient Katy Taylor-Hamilton and her mum, Emma.
Following in tradition they dipped a boot in the water and found a pebble to take across England to the east coast.
The trip should take 16 days.
