A message from our Country Representative, WTGF

By May 27, 2016No Comments

As you may be aware I was appointed Country Representative to the World Transplant Games Federation earlier this year.

The Federation, under the direction of the new President (which as you know is our CEO, Chris Thomas) has issued two new surveys to gain a better understanding of the attitudes of transplant recipients to issues of concern relating to quality of life and also the World Transplant Games.

The first survey is the first Global Quality of Life Survey for Transplant Recipients. The Council is determined to help more transplant recipients to be more active more often. This benchmark survey, being conducted across 65 member countries will help gain a better understanding of recipient attitudes towards important issues such as medication compliance, physical activity, diet, work-related issues, quality of life and mental wellbeing.

The second survey is a global survey on attitudes towards the Winter and Summer World Transplant Games. This survey is open to all participants who have ever competed in any World Transplant games in the past (either Summer or Winter or both). Please note this survey doesn’t relate to the Australian Transplant Games. If you have not been to a world games then please only complete the quality of life survey.

It is pleasing to see the Federation expand its role and ask recipients their views on such important matters.

If you would please take time to participate in these surveys it will help recipients both here in Australia and across the world.

Many thanks and kind regards
