Transplant Australia has been working with the eight other sports disability organisations on the development of a collaboration to improve our role in providing sporting opportunities for transplant recipients, those waiting for a transplant and our community.
Transplant Australia Director Holly Tyrrell has been taking the lead on this project to development a model of cooperation amongst other disability sports organisations, including Blind Sports Australia, Paralympics, Disability Sports Australia and Special Olympics.
Although the organisations each represent a vastly different group of athletes, they all face the same challenges to better represent their members and grow sports participation.
