On behalf of the Hempstalk family, Transplant Australia is devastated to announce the sudden passing of our good friend and colleague Matty Hempstalk.
Matty was returning from seeing his cousin and young niece in Perth when he fell ill on a flight back to Brisbane on Monday, December 5.
We have spoken with Melissa his sister and both she and Matty’s mum have agreed to us sharing this sad news. The family will release more details including funeral arrangements as they come to hand.
For the moment everyone, including his close friends in Brisbane and Queensland, are absorbing this news. We know that this will come as a complete shock to everyone as it has to us.
Please keep Matty, his family and friends in your thoughts. He was a great mate and an inspiration to so many.
