Who would you thank?

By November 13, 2018No Comments

Sunday, November 18 is Australia’s day where we thank all those who made organ and tissue donation possible. It is Thank You Day. Transplant Australia is encouraging all its members – the living proof that donation works – to upload or send in a video or message of thanks on Sunday, November 18.

If you are a member of Facebook, simply post your video or written message this Sunday. You can also send it to contactus@transplant.org.au and we will endeavour to post it for you.

It is an important way to publicly thank donors and their families. But it shouldn’t just stop with doing something on social media. If you received a donation from a living donor then give them a call on Thank You Day and remind them of your special gift. You can also thank others who made it possible – carers, your doctors and nurses.

Remember to use the hashtags #DonateLife #ThankYouDay when posting your message to Transplant Australia’s Facebook page.

By making this simple gesture you will be helping to raise awareness of the benefits of donation. And that publicity may just help the next potential donor family to say ‘yes’ or another Australian to join the Australian Organ Donor Register. Visit donatelife.gov.au.
