Transplant Australia’s CEO Chris Thomas has expressed gratitude to TECMASK for their support of the 2018 Australian Transplant Games athletes, and the message of organ and tissue donation.

TECMASK are contributing medical-grade quality face-masks for Games athletes, which will provide high-quality protection against harmful pollutants and irritants.

This kind of protection can be especially important for recipients, many of whom take immuno-suppressent medications which keep their transplant safe, but make them vulnerable to exposure from other germs.

Mr Thomas said that TECMASK’s generous contribution is appreciated by Transplant Australia and its members. “Transplant Australia is grateful to have the support of TECMASK, and commends the organisation for helping to ensure that our athletes have access to a mask which will increase their safety while they’re taking part in the Transplant Games on the Gold Coast.”

A representative from TECMASK said, “TECMASK are proud supporters of the Transplant Games as we admire the courage and strength of all transplant patients, which we believe both the Games and participants represent.

“The TECMASK team want to do all they can to help patients who suffer from immunosuppressed conditions post-surgery, to carry on their day-to-day lives and get back out into the community feeling comfortable and fashionable whilst putting their health first.”

The Transplant Games take place from Saturday 29th September to Saturday October 6, at several locations on the Gold Coast. 700 representatives from across Australia and overseas will unite for a week of sports and activities geared around promoting organ and tissue donation to the Australian public.

The message of the Transplant Games is to inspire more people to register as organ donors, which will ultimately save more lives.
